All patients are encouraged to follow NSW Health advice regarding vaccination against COVID-19 and to discuss specific concerns with their family doctor.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has published guidelines to assist your family doctor in vaccine decision making, including choice of vaccine.

For the majority of adults with neurological conditions, there will be no specific contraindication to vaccination or use of a particular vaccine. However, for some patients, including those who are immunosuppressed because of their medical conditions, or on immunosuppressive/immunomodulatory therapies (including for multiple sclerosis or autoimmune disorders), there may be specific advice regarding vaccination, or choice and timing of vaccination to consider. If this has not already been discussed with you at a neurological consultation and your family doctor requires advice, we would welcome your doctor making contact.
